Olly Turner continued to strengthen his hold on the top of the points in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship racing with MRF Tyres with two more victories to add to his tally at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

Qualifying saw Joel Wren claim his second pole position in as many meetings, with Turner joining him on the front row of the grid ahead of Joseph Loake and Ted Potts on the second row. Abby Lock took her place on the third row, alongside Alfie Glenie who had failed to set a time due to mechanical issues.

The first race was somewhat eventful as an incident just three laps in brought out the red flags and the subsequent stoppage, with Wren, Loake and Lock all involved and forced to miss the restart. Once racing did get underway again, Turner was able to immediately jump into the lead and drive on to collect his fourth win of the season with Ted Potts clinching 2nd and Glenie also surviving to pick up 3rd place.

For the second encounter both Wren and Loake were able to get their cars repaired and back on the grid, although Lock was too shaken up after her incident that a trip to the medical centre resulted in her weekend coming to a premature end. From the start, Turner jumped into the lead from pole with Wren ensuring he was never more than a second behind his main rival. Across the entire 7 lap distance, Turner held his own to complete another double as he had done at Silverstone, with Wren collecting a trouble free 2nd place and Loake further impressing the paddock with his second podium in only his second race meeting. Potts and Glenie would go on to complete the top 5.

The next rounds take place at Snetterton in Norfolk on the 300 circuit in just a couple of weeks’ time, where we’re already reaching the half way point!
