Can anyone stop Joseph Loake from clinching a 100% win record? - Photo: Jon Elsey

What a year it's been all round and especially in junior racing circles for the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship racing with MRF Tyres, as the paddock travels to North Yorkshire and the excellent Croft Circuit for the final two races of the shortened 2020 season, heading back to the circuit where it all began earlier this year at the Media Day.

One thing to mention off the bat - not everyone from Silverstone and Donington Park has been able to make the trip on this occasion. This is due to some driver either having outstanding prior commitments or choosing to switch their focus to preparing for the 2021 FJC season. Therefore 10 cars will line up at Croft on Saturday, but regardless it should be a great weekend.

Joseph Loake appears to be odds on to wrap up the 2020 title after his total domination of the season up to this point. Since the opening weekend at Cadwell Park he's remained unbeaten and has taken six wins from six races. Croft will be the chance for him to completely sew up the championship and potentially be the first driver in FJC history to complete a 100% win record in a season. While he had a substantial gap to the cars behind him to begin with, subsequent rounds have seen the chasing pack get closer and closer and at Donington they were on his tail.

Closest to him was Will Orton, the man who had led the charge of Loake's rivals and has also claimed sole ownership of 2nd place. With every passing race meeting, he's edged closer and closer onto the back of Loake and came closest to denying him a win at Donington Park. This may be his last chance to clinch one, so he will want to grab it with both hands.  Bradley Beavers has managed to produce a steady stream of race results and finds himself in 3rd place heading to this weekend. Some excellent driving through the field in both Donington races helped him pick up a personal best of 4th in the second race and a first podium finish must surely be on the horizon. Speaking of podium finishes, 4th and 5th placed Joseph Knight and Jenson Brickley picked up their first silverware of their FJC careers last time out with a 3rd place each and will be looking to add more points to their totals before the season is out.

Albert Webster comes next in 6th, helped by his podium at Cadwell Park, and he will be hoping for a drama-free finish to his season after he found himself in a slow rollover at the first corner of Race 1 last time out which required the entire paddock to help out to get his car ready again for the second race. There's never a dull race when Dylan Hotchin's around either as he's certainly had his fair share of moments in all three weekends, but his pace is undeniable and a clean final two races should really help him shine through. Jake Weston has done incredibly well to reach 8th in points after only two meetings, and his pair of podiums on his Silverstone debut is certainly proof that there's more to come from him going forwards. The last two entries for Croft are Jake Triggs and Briannie Davis, Jake having finished as high as 4th at Silverstone while Briannie cracked the top 10 for the first time at Donington. Both will be keen to finish off 2020 on a high note.

All things considered, this year has been amazing for the championship and with a lot of interest for next season and drivers already securing cars for 2021, the only way is up for FJC. Let's end the year in style!
