The FJC community will roll into Donington Park this weekend for rounds five and six of the 2015 championship, which will be run on the 2.49 mile Grand Prix circuit.

Michael Higgs stole the show on the Snetterton 300 circuit three weeks ago with wins in rounds three and four of the new season. After a confident start at Silverstone, where Michael had to play second fiddle to Aaron Thompson, the Dunmow driver underlined his title credentials with two highly professional drives. He now moves to within just three points of leader Aaron, who was runner-up in each of the twenty-minute races.

It was also a great weekend for Nathan Edwards - the 16 year-old from Tunbridge Wells made the podium for the first time in his career in race one. The rarefied atmosphere on the P3 step obviously agreed with Nathan as repeated the trick in the second race! With the confidence gained from those two results Nathan will be determined to back it up with more success at Donington.

For the FJC newcomers the Donington Park Grand Prix will be another track they need to learn but it will also be another one ticked off as they gain more experience. Geri Nicosia won both Donington rounds last July on his way to winning the title. Of last year’s podium, only leader Aaron Thompson is back in action this weekend, so he will be hoping his knowledge of the circuit will be a major factor in his favour and that he can emulate Geri’s double.

A very warm welcome to FJC’s latest recruit Richard Crisp, who will make his championship debut this weekend. The Maldon based driver only celebrated his fourteenth birthday a couple of weeks ago so he is going right in at the deep end. Richard has plenty of karting experience over the last five years so it will be interesting to see how quickly he can adapt to circuit racing.

The FJC cars will be first seen out on the track for a free fifteen-minute practice session on Saturday morning, followed by another one just after the lunch-break. The twenty-minute qualifying session is the last track activity of the day, scheduled for 6.10pm. Sunday’s races got at 9.40am and 3.15pm.
