The seven week itch!

It has been a long seven week break since the last FJC race so all the drivers are itching to get back on the track at Snetterton for rounds 7 & 8 of the 2015 Fiesta Junior Championship.....

It was way back on 10th May that Aaron Thompson increased his lead at the top of the points table winning both races at Donington Park ahead of Michael Higgs and Nathan Edwards in each encounter.

The Essex based former karter Richard Crisp will be particularly keen to get back into action having made an impressive FJC debut at Donington. Richard came fourth in his first race and then finished one place higher in the second outing before a post-race time penalty denied him his first podium finish.

Come the end of Sunday, we will be half way through the season so the weekend’s racing could be pivotal if any one driver can string together two great results. Michael Higgs did just that when FJC raced at Snett back in April, winning both races but that was on the 300 circuit and this time we are on the shorter 200 configuration which FJC last raced on in September 2012. Charles Ladell, now racing in the Renault UK Clio Cup, was the victor in both races on that occasion.

With the circuit being a new one for the entire field, three 20-minute practice sessions have been allocated to FJC, the first of which is the first track activity of the meeting at 9am tomorrow. Saturday is then concluded with FJC qualifying. Sunday’s first race is scheduled to go off at 12.25pm, just before the lunch-break and the second race is the penultimate one of the weekend at 5.10pm.
