JAM-SPORT CLIO TEST FOR 2016 CHAMPION

Both this and next year's champion will gain a test drive in one of these!

After another successful year for the Fiesta Juniors in terms of their promising growth in grid size, next season is certain to see our drivers hungrier than ever before, as one of our front-running teams is putting up a very enticing prize for next year’s champion.

Jam-Sport, the team which helped to run Aaron Thompson towards his championship victory this year, have begun to ensconce themselves in the Renault Clio Cup UK, which runs as part of the TOCA package which supports the British Touring Car Championship. This season they’ve run Thomas Grundy, a frontrunner in last year’s FJC with 3rd place in the final standings.

To help strengthen their link with the Fiesta Junior Championship further, Jam-Sport have very kindly agreed to put up a very special prize for 2016’s champion – a test in one of their Clio Cup cars. This is a fantastic incentive for those who are bidding to compete next year, especially as it could be a major boost to a young driver’s aspirations to make it in either touring car or GT racing. That said, several FJC graduates have gone on to race in the Clio Cup UK within the last couple of years, including Grundy, Rory Collingbourne, Samuel Watkins, Charlie Ladell and even this year’s Jam-Sport Fiesta Champion James “JJ” Ross, all of which started in the Juniors with varying levels of success.

There has already been significant interest for next year which should hopefully see a raft of new drivers coming in to compete with us next season. The championship will have its own stand showcasing a car at both Kartmania at the end of November at Silverstone, as well as once again featuring at the Autosport International Racing Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham at the beginning of January. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet championship personnel and also to find out about the prize and how to enter.

In addition, this year’s champion Thompson will also get a test in a Jam-Sport Clio as a reward for his championship success. Aaron is already setting his sights on the Jam-Sport Fiesta Championship, with his aim to wrestle the Class C title from JJ Ross in 2016.
