Reigning Fiesta Junior Champion Harry Gooding has made the late decision to return to the grid for the remainder of the 2017 season with a return this weekend at Cadwell Park.

The 15-year-old from Bridgwater has made the decision to come back to the championship in which he secured 6 victories towards his title success in 2016. Harry will be back with Jam-Sport and on a mission to, assumedly, become the first junior circuit racing champion to defend their title in British motorsport.

Speaking about the news, Gooding said: "It's great to be back in the Fiesta Junior Championship. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there to race, as I've not driven the car since Brands Hatch last year.

I'm confident that I'll be on the pace to win straight away. My aim is to try and win the Championship again this season. It will be more difficult than last year seeing as I've already missed the first two races at Brands Hatch, but nonetheless I'm confident I still have a great chance of winning the title again.

I really can't wait to get back out there at Cadwell Park. I want to give thanks to the Jam-Sport team for getting the car sorted in such little time and thanks to my mum and dad for sorting everything out so that I can be racing this weekend."

As mentioned, Gooding begins his title defence at Cadwell Park on May 6/7 but returns to a championship where the landscape has changed a little. Last time out at Brands Hatch, two new race winners emerged in James Hillery and Jack Davidson. Both will be on top form and familiar faces to Gooding, as will Nicholas Reeve, James Waite and Lochlan Bearman.

It's clear that Harry will be a frontrunner straight out of the box this weekend, however the question is - just how will fortunes play out in FJC now that the champ is back in business?
