CANSDALE: QUALIFYING PACE WAS NO SURPRISE

In a brief interview after qualifying at Silverstone, Olivia Humphrey spoke to HillWood Motorsport's Scott Cansdale after scoring a personal best 3rd fastest in the session.

Scott, qualifying was a bit of a surprise, were you expecting that result?
Sort of yes and no because we found the problem in practise and then we were second quickest in practise 2 so we brought that over to qualifying and got a couple of good laps in and managed to qualify p3, so happy with that.

It was a personal best for you and race 1 went well, think you can carry this success into race 2?
Well the hopes are for James (Hillery) and I to hopefully pull away and get p1 and p2, which would be nice for the team.

While the win was slightly out of their grasp thanks to Jack Davidson, Cansdale did at least managed to secure a superb 2nd place in Race 1. Any hopes of repeating that success in Race 2 were dashed when contact with James Waite exiting Brooklands put him out of the race there and then.

With the car now seemingly up to full strength, Cansdale will be bidding for another podium appearance this weekend at Rockingham.
